There are so many plants we can easily grow in our own space, no matter how little space we have. Everyone does not have a big garden but everyone can always have a mini garden in one’s own space.

In today’s post, I’m just going to introduce you to an Ayurvedic herb named Thankuni (থানকুনি পাতা) Thankuni, scientifically known as Centella Asiatica. In India, it is called Brahmi. The plant is a ground creeper and the whole plant is mostly used for medicinal purposes. It has lots of health-healing benefits. It grows easily and does not need much care. They just need little sunlight, fresh air, and water. They are so beautiful to look at. It has a strong fragrance. |

So, I started to give her water and she spread her branches. As I knew some of the benefits. My parents used to feed us these because of their medicinal benefits.
Therefore, I thought to gather more information for all of us as I wanted to know my food. And have found out so much about this wonderful plant name is Brahmi / Thankuni (থানকুনি পাতা). We can even prepare a special recipe and have it with rice or roti. And easily get the benefits. Thankuni Vorta (Thankuni patar vorta) is one of the recipes.
So, we may take the benefits of these herbs if we know them a little more to use as home remedies. Our ancestors were enriched with this kind of knowledge. They lived a longer, healthier, and happier life. For colds, flu, stomach upset, indigestion, and many small problems they used herbal remedies. Kitchen spices and backyard gardens are the sources of home remedies even today in our villages.
